The Arizona Cardinals did not have the game they hoped to have on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. For the most part, it was a disappointment, especially after the first drive of the second half.
Who were the studs and duds for the Cardinals in Sunday’s 38-20 loss?
Stud: OLB Chandler Jones

Jones did not apply consistent pressure, but he produced two sacks and forced two fumbles, recovering one of them. He has been a turnover machine. All three of his sacks this season have forced fumbles. He also finished with five tackles and two QB hits against the Panthers.
Dud: WR Trent Sherfield

Sherfield has mostly been a stud this season, but he was not on Sunday. He did not log a special teams tackle. He was also flagged for a penalty on a punt return and he dropped a wide-open pass that might have gone for a touchdown.
Stud: First-half Kyler Murray

Murray was very efficient in the first half and even in the first drive of the second half. He was 18-of-22 passing in the first half for 95 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for 32 yards. He made good decisions with the football, and the offense was clicking.
Dud: Second-half Kyler Murray

Things didn’t go as well for Murray in the second half. His second-half stats were 12-of-21 passing for 78 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. He was sacked five times in the second half.
Stud: Zane Gonzalez

Gonzalez made both of his field goal attempts and both extra points. He is still perfect through three games. He also filled in as punter in the fourth quarter and wasn’t terrible. He averaged 42 yards on two punts.
Dud: David Johnson

Johnson scored a touchdown and caught six passes, but he did not produce much in the way of yards. He rushed for 37 yards on 11 carries, and his six catches netted 28 total yards. But 65 total yards isn’t what the Cardinals hoped from him after he was given a contract extension.
Stud: Haason Reddick

Reddick had a good game. He finished with 12 tackles, including one for loss and broke up two passes. In fact, he seemed to be the only player to win a one-on-one battle in coverage when he broke up a third-down pass to Christian McCaffrey.
Dud: Terrell Suggs

After getting two sacks in the season opener, Suggs has been invisible for two weeks. He had two tackles and a QB hit, but he made little impact on the game.
