KOTTAYAM: Students should follow the uniform prescribed by the respective institutions, said BJP state president K Surendran.
Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Surendran said that this is the party's stand on the hijab issue. He reminded those criticizing the Karnataka government about the Kerala government's stand on such matters.
"Nobody was seen creating any issue when the Kerala chief minister said that student police cadets should not wear hijab," he said. He alleged that the move to make a controversy out of what Karnataka CM said is due to some ulterior motives. "It is not possible if each religion seeks to follow their customs in school. This is BJP's stand," he said. tnn
