Student told he is disqualified from The Chase because celebration was against 'health and safety'

Host Bradley Walsh teased a cash-winning contestant that he was disqualified from The Chase after breaking ITV health and safety rules.

Philosophy student Benjamin managed to secure £8,000 in his cash-builder against The Chaser qualifying for a head-to-head for his team.

And despite going up against Paul Sinha , Benjamin wiped the floor with The Chaser, securing the money and bringing the team's total to £25,000.

Excited with his performance and the prospect of winning a large amount of money, Benjamin ran back to his team, the Liverpool Echo reports.

However, Bradley then informed the University of Sussex graduate that this was against ITV rules.

Benjamin was excellent on The Chase (ITV)

He said: "And he runs back, he ran, he actually ran.

"That contravenes all health and safety regulations here at ITV. I'm sorry the team is now down to three."

But luckily for Benjamin, Bradley joked it off, saying: "The entire team are through to the final chase, with a prize fund of £25,000".

And thanks to some expert knowledge off Ben, the team won the jackpot in the final chase.
