Student nurse dad-of-two wins a £14k family holiday after spending just 70p

A dad-of-two has won a dream £14,000 family holiday to Disney World in Florida after paying only 70p to enter a competition.

Student nurse Steven Wiltshire, from Neath, was left speechless after being told the good news as he dropped his two children - Charlie, 10, and Noah, 9 - off at school last week.

The shocked 35-year-old, whose wife Sarah is also a support worker, described the past 12 months of working in a pandemic as "pretty crazy" upon receiving a video call from Christian Williams, the presenter of Best of the Best.

An online competition company which has been operating since 1999, BOTB is known for regularly giving away such lavish prizes as dream cars and expensive lifestyle items.

"This is amazing, we've never been able to take the kids on a holiday like this before," said Steven, who entered the prize draw through the BOTB website.

The moment Steven received the news of his big win (BOTB)

"It's been a very busy and difficult year for us. Lauren is also a support worker, so we've both been flat out with work while also juggling studying and looking after the kids.

"So a family holiday is exactly what we need."

Their prize includes a two-week all-inclusive stay at the Disney Animal Kingdom, with flights and unlimited access to all six theme parks thrown in too - they just need to wait until the Covid restriction are sufficiently eased on travelling abroad.

And earlier this year BOTB also surprised 18-year-old Kian Lloyd from Llansamlet with the news he'd won a £60,000 sports car and £70,000 cash - all after paying only £2 to enter a biweekly online dream car competition.

In the space of a phone call the teenager went from being the driver of a Ford Focus to the proud owner of a souped-up Audi ABT RS3, which has 470 brake horsepower and can reach speeds of 177 miles per hour.

During his chat with BOTB's Christian, Kian's disbelieving mum could be in the background saying "you can't be serious," before adding that she'd never seen her son turn "so white."
