Student kicked out for attack

A school in Bangkok's Phasi Charoen district yesterday gave a male student who allegedly attacked a female teacher after she chastised him for lateness 15 days to find a new school or be expelled.

Poonsak Jitsawang, director of Wat Nuannoradit School, said yesterday he set up a committee made up of teacher representatives and the student's parents to find out the truth behind a video clip showing a male student aggressively arguing with his female teacher, which has been widely shared on social media in recent days.

Mr Poonsak told the Bangkok Post the panel has decided to give the student 15 days to find a new school and would offer him assistance in finding somewhere suitable.

"We agreed we cannot deal with his behaviour any more because this is not the first time he has had problems with teachers and been warned of serious punishment for further wrongdoing. He also has a big drug problem and was sent to a youth detention centre last year," Mr Poonsak said.

The school believed this was the best solution for everyone concerned as neither teachers nor students wish to associate with him any longer.

"If he does not leave by then, we will expel him without any help," he said.

The clip shows a female teacher telling the student to go to the discipline office for being late for school, but the student refuses to follow her instruction.

As the teacher touches his shoulder, the student grabs her before other students step in to separate them.

The video was actually posted by the student himself, in a post where wrote a message saying the teacher said bad things about his parents.

"I admit that I came to school at noon that day and when the teacher saw me she tried to force me to go to the student disciplinary office. I refused to go and gave her my student ID instead. However, she still forced me to go with her and said bad things about me and my parents, so I got very angry," he wrote.
