Police have arrested a 17-year-old computer student in Bangkok for allegedly running voyeur pornographic websites and social media accounts, from which he allegedly made half a million baht in three months.
Pol Col Jirakrit Jarunpat, commander of the police's women and children welfare division, said yesterday the third-year university student was arrested at his house on Khian Niwat Alley in Phra Nakhon district on Tuesday. There, police seized a desktop computer and a mobile phone with 300,000 pornographic files of girls and women, totalling 860 gigabytes.
Pol Col Jirakrit said detectives began to look for the suspect in August, after several sites and social media pages were found to be distributing voyeur pornography, including upskirt pictures and videos of students, net idols and actresses.
The contents were shared on many platforms, including Facebook, Line and VK. Many of the contents were only shared with about 1,000 paying members, who paid between 300-800 baht each, Pol Col Jirakrit said.
The suspect also shared the files in public groups with about 30,000 members," he said.
