Student attacked in street by two female thugs who scratched her with acrylic nails

A university student was left bloodied after a shocking attack by two female thugs while on a city centre night out.

Isabel Chrestien shared the disturbing images of her bloodied and rake-like wounds on her chest allegedly caused by acrylic nails.

Police are now investigating claims the 22-year-old was set upon by two women outside Birmingham’s Walkabout sports bar in Broad Street.

Isabel, who is studying marketing management at the University College of Birmingham, told Birmingham Live : “I was pushed and punched in the mouth.

“The other girl scratched at my chest with her acrylic nails and put out a cigarette in my drink.

“I had cuts and bruises all over my body and I’m still in pain. I still can’t drink anything hot.”

She alleges someone who tried to intervene during the October 21 incident was also punched.

West Midlands Police have confirmed they’re investigating the alleged assault at the Walkabout bar and have appealed for witnesses.

Meanwhile, Isabel has also branded the landlords of her Selly Oak student accommodation heartless for pursuing unpaid rent - despite the fact she was advised by police to leave the premises.

She has received a letter threatening legal action unless she pays the £433 owed in rent, some of the debt accrued during her absence.

Letting agents Easy Lettings stressed they are merely acting as a “middle man” for the landlord whose details are confidential. While they have sympathy for Isabel, she has entered into an agreement that lists her parents as guarantors.

And while her belongings remain at the Selly Oak address, she is still a tenant with financial responsibilities.

Isabel packed her bags and moved out of the home the morning after the incident, October 22.

Isabel, originally from Kent, said: “I told them I’m scared for my life to be there. They told me, ‘you don’t have to live there, you just have to pay the rent’.”

“They just don’t seem to care, they’ve just told me it’s my responsibility. Surely they have a duty to ensure our safety?”

A spokesman for Easy Lettings said: “This is a civil matter and we are the third party. It is not us, we are a middle man for both.

“The police should be involved and she needs to contact a legal advisor.”

He added: “The landlord has a mortgage to pay, too.”
