'Stubborn Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak should backtrack on NI increases while they can'

By persisting with their unfair, widely condemned plans to raise National Insurance to fund social care, the Prime Minister and Chancellor of the Exchequer are sticking two fingers up at the public.

Stubborn Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak should backtrack now while they can. And if they don’t, MPs of all political parties must defeat them in Parliament.

Tory Armed Forces Minister and former soldier James Heappey’s admission that veterans of the conflict question the value of their service is heartbreaking.

US Presidents Donald Trump and Joe Biden must consider the consequences of American withdrawal but Johnson and Raab’s failure to plan earlier and better also cost lives.

Uniform front

THE weather warming up just as kids go back to class is bad luck for families who shivered and drowned during the summer.

Next time it’s wet in the holidays, maybe the emergency reopening of schools might tempt the sun to appear again.
