Stuart lauds Nicoll-Klokstad on milestone

Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad will play his 50th NRL game on Saturday when Canberra meet the Warriors. (AAP)

Beginning his first-grade career at the Warriors, it's fitting Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad's 50th appearance in the NRL is against the side that gave him his first start.

Canberra coach Ricky Stuart has watched the young star develop and mature even at a young age, and says its a testament to his hard work.

"The good ones find their feet and find their position in a team early, and Charnze has done that," Stuart said of the fullback.

"I always say it's about 75 games till you're an experienced first-grade player.

"He's still only young in his game and he's done a wonderful job for us so far ... he works extremely hard at his game."

"50 games and against his old club, it's a nice milestone for him."

In an exciting battle of two of the premier fullbacks in the NRL, Nicoll-Klokstad will line up against fellow Maori all-star Roger Tuivasa-Scheck when the Raiders and Warriors clash on Saturday.

The Raiders will look to contain Tuivasa-Scheck who was second in average running metres in the NRL in 2020 at 221 metres per game.

Stuart says the two are good mates off the field and is expecting a difficult challenge up front by an always powerful Warriors outfit.

"They're a big, very powerful team right from the wingers right through the middle," he said.

"They're always a tough team to play against, they've got skill and they have a lot of attacking ability through a lot of individuals."

"You always have to be willing defensively against big powerful teams such as the Warriors.

Stuart added the Warriors' extended stay in Australia could only be positive from a footballing stance.

"It's like they're in a full-time camp, and it can only be positive for their football especially now they have the main core of their families with them."

"It's certainly a unique situation for them but I think they have it down pat now."
