Stuart Kettlewell sacked by Ross County as manager pays the price for nightmare run

Ross County have sacked manager Stuart Kettlewell after a 2-0 defeat to Hamilton left them four points adrift at the bottom of the table.

The Staggies have managed just one Premiership win since August, with Saturday's defeat their fourth on the spin.

Following the reverse at home to Accies, County have decided to act with Kettlewell removed from his position shortly after full-time.

A statement said: " Ross County FC can confirm that Stuart Kettlewell has been relieved of his duties as Manager.

"Stuart was an ideal appointment for the club given his history and association with the club and we will support Stuart in the coming weeks."

The Highland side started the season with back-to-back wins but things have gone downhill since then.

A 1-0 victory away to St Johnstone in September is the only time they've tasted victory in the Premiership since, with the Staggies taking just 13 points all season.

There was some respite in the Betfred Cup as a shock win over Celtic saw Kettlewell's side reach the quarter-finals.

Defeat to Livingston in midweek saw them eliminated though and the loss to Hamilton proved to be the final straw.
