Stuart Dallas responds to Brentford jibe during Leeds United’s title celebrations

Leeds United full-back Stuart Dallas has taken to social media to respond to a video showing him and teammate Liam Cooper mocking Brentford following during the Whites’ title celebrations.

The clip, which was posted, but then quickly deleted from Leeds’ official Twitter account showed the duo dancing with the Championship trophy while singing to Bees’ boss Thomas Frank to ‘mind the gap.’

Brentford went into the final game of the season knowing that a win could see them automatically promoted to the Premier League.

And West Bromwich Albion’s 2-2 draw with QPR left the door open for Thomas Frank’s men.

However, they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Barnsley, meaning that they will have to go through the playoffs should they wish to play Premier League football alongside Leeds next season.

Frank riled Whites’ players and fans ahead of the fixture between the two clubs earlier in the season, with Leeds believing that the Brentford boss was playing mind games during his pre-match interviews.

"I am 100 per cent sure that they fear us going into this game but that is not to say that we are just going to win it. I promise you one thing, we will be absolutely at it and ready to attack,” he said back in February.

Some Brentford fans have voiced their disappointment at former player Dallas for his actions, but the defender has responded.

“Just a bit of fun last night! Good luck to @BrentfordFC in the play offs,” he wrote.

Brentford face Swansea City in the semi-final of the play offs on Sunday, before playing their final game at Griffin Park in the return leg the following Wednesday.

The Swans themselves made the playoffs in dramatic fashion overturning a six goal goal difference swing to pip Nottingham Forest to the final place.

Leeds fans can watch the games safe in the knowledge that their place in the Premier League is already secured.
