Stuart Dallas on why Leeds United will always stick to Plan A

A frustrated Stuart Dallas has explained why Leeds United won't change their approach after Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Swansea.

The Northern Ireland international analysed what went wrong as United's unbeaten start to the season in the Championship came to an end after Steve Cooper's Swans managed a smash-and-grab victory at Elland Road.

It's now just one win from the last seven games on home soil for Marcelo Bielsa's side, with the familiarity of being undone by a defensive lapse and an inability to convert chances a familiar feeling for the regular matchgoers.

"I think we knew that if we defended well it gives us a good base to attack," said Dallas, speaking after the match.

"I think we attacked well, with good link-up play. We were just lacking that final touch.

"We’re disappointed, it's a game we could have won, we should have won but we go away with nothing."

Going into the international break, Swansea moved top of the Championship table while Leeds moved down to third, leapfrogged by Lee Bowyer's Charlton into the automatic promotion spots.

So far this season, Marcelo Bielsa hasn't tended to deviate from his plan in terms of shape and system, only making changes when injuries required him to. Eddie Nketiah and Helder Costa are still waiting for their first league starts for the club.

The Whites return to league action in two weeks time with a trip to Oakwell to face Barnsley.

"I thought we defended pretty well today, the goal’s scruffy, it’s come from a corner and it’s not cleared properly, we had a couple of chances to clear it," Dallas added.

"It’s disappointing, but we’ll regroup and we’ll go again."

"We’re not going to change our way, we’re going to continue to play, continue to pass and move, we just couldn’t get that final touch.

"We don’t worry about other things, take care of ourselves, unfortunately we couldn’t do that today. This league’s proven that anyone can beat anyone but we know if we’re on our game and playing to the best of our capabilities, we’ll win more games than we’ll lose."
