Stuart Dallas identifies where Leeds United must improve after Wolves defeat

Stuart Dallas says Leeds United must start taking advantage of being on top in matches.

The Whites dominated possession in the first half but struggled to break down a stubborn Wolves defence, who capitalised in the second half by opening up a little more and scoring the only goal through Raul Jimenez's deflected strike.

Speaking to Sky Sports post-match, Dallas said there were positives to take from their second Premier League defeat of the season but it was clear what needed to be worked on.

He said: "It's bitterly disappointing, we controlled large parts of the game but maybe didn't make the goalkeeper work enough.

"It's a game of fine margins and unfortunately for us they've had a bit of luck with the goal.

"On the whole, reacting straight after the game, we're disappointed we didn't get anything out of it."

He added: "When you're playing teams like this you've got to capitalise when you're on top and we didn't do that.

"I think you've got to give Wolves credit, they came here, the way they set up.

"They came here with a gameplan and it worked. You're not going to get too many chances in these types of games and I don't think we made the goalkeeper work enough.

"There's plenty of positives we can take from it, a lot of positives, but there's certainly stuff we can work on as well."

The Whites do not have to wait too long before they have the chance to bounce back from defeat as they take on Aston Villa on Friday.

Yet, with Villa having a 100 per cent record so far this season, Dallas warned it will not be easy.

"You're learning in every game," he said when asked what could be taken from the performance against Wolves.

"No matter what level you're playing at, you continue to learn and it's the same here.

"We can take a lot from it, we're four or five games into the season now and we came into this game looking to win it.

"Unfortunately we couldn't do that and now we've got to bounce back on Friday against a team that's flying high in the table full of confidence and doing really well."
