Stuart Broad takes 500th Test wicket as England move towards series victory over West Indies

Stuart Broad claimed his 500th Test wicket as England moved towards victory in the Test series decider against West Indies.

Broad, who hit out at selectors after he was dropped for the opening Test, tore through the West Indies tail in the first innings before ensuring they made the worst possible start to their chase on Sunday evening.

The tourists were 10 for two overnight on Sunday, with Broad removing John Campbell and Kemar Roach before Monday's play was washed out. That left him waiting an extra 24 hours for the milestone wicket but it eventually came on Tuesday as he trapped Kraigg Brathwaite lbw to leave the Windies 45/3.

He becomes the seventh player in history to have reach 500 Test wickets, with long-term partner James Anderson one of just three other seamers to do so along with Glenn McGrath and Courtney Walsh.

After he was left out of the team for the first Test earlier this month, Broad told Sky Sports he was "not really bothered about those sort of milestones".
