Stuart Broad and fiancé Mollie King reveal gender of first child

Nottinghamshire cricketer Stuart Broad has announced the gender of his first child with fiancé Mollie King. The pair, who announced they would be having a baby in June, revealed they would be having a girl in an Instagram post.

Nottingham-born Stuart, 36, and The Saturdays singer and Radio 1 presenter Mollie, 35, published a video on social media, showing pink petals rain down after a 'boy or girl?' balloon is burst. "Last weekend we got our families together for a little celebration that we’ll never forget," Mollie wrote on Instagram.

"For months our families have been predicting and guessing the gender of the baby but it’s been so lovely to have that just between us. Our due date is really creeping up now, we can’t believe how close it is, so last weekend felt like the right time to get everyone together and reveal it. It was such a special day and one we’ll always remember. So… we’re having a…."

Many users gave their congratulations to the couple, including Mollie's co-presenter Matt Edmondson, who commented: "I can’t wait to meet baby Matilda* - CONGRATS GUYS! *I’m presuming this is the name," he wrote.

Singer Ellie Goulding also replied with three love hearts. Stuart and Mollie reportedly began dating in 2012, and had been in an on-off relationship before splitting up in 2018. They're said to have rekindled their romance in 2019.

They got engaged on New Year's Day last year, with Mollie sharing the news on Instagram. She posted a photo of them kissing, with her engagement ring visible on her finger.

Stuart was recently in the news after a fire ravaged the Tap & Run pub, in Upper Broughton, which he co-owns with former Nottinghamshire cricketer Harry Gurney. Virtually everything but the external walls were destroyed by the blaze, which broke out in the early hours of June 11 and the pub is expected to be closed until at least 2023.
