Country music festival Strummingbird has unveiled the lineup for its inaugural music festival, set to take to stages in Newcastle, the Sunshine Coast and Perth later this year.
For those already clamouring for their calendars, the touring festival will first hit the Kawana Sports Precinct in the Sunshine Coast on Saturday, October 25, with an additional date slated for the Newcastle Foreshore on Saturday, November 1.
Strummingbird will wrap up its three-date run with a final festival held at the Claremont Showground in Perth on Sunday, November 2.
Now that’s out of the way, let me spill on all the artists who feature on the lineup of Strummingbird’s first-ever edition. Drum roll (or banjo twang) please…

The festival is headlined by none other than Jelly Roll, in what will be his debut visit Down Under, fresh off the success of his latest 2024 album Beautifully Broken.
The Grammy-winner is joined on the bill by fellow US artist Shaboozey, whose track “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” was inescapable for the better part of last year, as well as country music band Treaty Oak Hall, who’ll perform on the Sunshine Coast and Newcastle dates.
Australia is repped on the lineup by James Johnston — whose debut single “Raised Like That” still features on this writer’s playlist — as well as Queensland natives Wade Forster and acoustic folk duo The Dreggs.
The lineup also counts Kaylee Bell, Matt Hansen, Drew Baldrige and Julia Cole among its starry entrants, with The Jack Wharoff Band set to take to the stage in Perth and Newcastle. Zac & George and Rachael Fahim round out the roster, but it’s Hot Dub Time Machine who’ll be closing down proceedings in Perth and the Sunshine Coast.
For those unaware, the Aussie DJ is known for his dancefloor-filler sets that take revellers on a journey through history’s biggest hits. But for Strummingbird, he’ll be focussing purely on country and rock and roll, while Y.O.G.A will take on final set duties for the date in Newcastle.

As festivals continue to tragically drop like flies, it’s rare for Australia to wrangle such star power, and rarer still for it to be curated solely for country music stans.
If that sounds like you, here’s all the deets: pre-sale tickets will be available from 10am AEST/ 8am AWST on Thursday, August 7 after signing up on Strummingbird’s website here.
If you miss that, you can get general sale tickets the following day (August 8) at the same time. You could also skip that altogether and guarantee yourself a ticket on Friday, August 1 with Moshtix Ticket Request (details here).
In the meantime, I’m gonna whack on some Shaboozey and pour myself a whiskey… it’s all about gettin’ tipsy, after all.
