Struggling fashion chain Superdry set to open first store in North Staffordshire

Struggling fashion retailer Superdry is preparing to open its first store in North Staffordshire.

The company - which posted a before-tax loss of £85.4 million for the 12 months to April 27, 2019 -  is opening a new branch inside Stoke-on-Trent's intu Potteries shopping centre.

It has agreed to take over the former New Look Men shop - between River Island and Top Shop - which is located on the centre's first floor.

Rachael Jackson, general manager of intu Potteries, said: "This is the news that many people from Staffordshire and South Cheshire have been waiting for. We’ve been so excited to announce that Superdry is coming to intu Potteries.

"We cannot wait for the store to open its doors and know it will be extremely popular with customers, whether they’re among the many dedicated Superdry fans, or newcomers to the brand looking to discover what the fuss is about. We know you’ll all love it."

Melanie Rex, operations director of Superdry said: "We are looking forward to joining the intu Potteries in Stoke-on-Trent and hoping to attract even more people from the surrounding areas."

An opening date for Superdry's Potteries store is yet to be confirmed.
