'Struggling' Edinburgh cafe Maison de Moggy devastated after M 'stolen' from sign

Staff at Edinburgh's cat cafe Maison de Moggy say they are 'struggling to see the funny side' after the M was stolen from their shop sign.

The devastated Grassmarket business warned they would contact the police if the letter was not returned.

Workers at Maison de Moggy say they are "finding it hard to see the funny side" of the incident after "really struggling" during the pandemic.

But the small business, who offer locals a cafe experience while surrounded by cats, say they would be willing to turn a blind eye to the ‘theft’ if the sign was handed back in.

Speaking out on Facebook, they wrote: "To whoever has stolen our "M",

"We've all done something silly after a few too many drinks, we get it.

"But as a small business, really struggling after being closed for the best part of a year, we are finding it hard to see the funny side of this.

"Please note: the front of our building is monitored by CCTV which records 24/7.

"If you hand the M back then no questions will be asked and we will not pursue this but if we don't get it back then we will be involving the police and you will be seen on camera, caught in the act.
