Strong winds to hit Nottinghamshire as weather warning issued

Nottinghamshire should expect strong winds later in the week as a weather warning has been put in place.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for wind across all of England and Wales.

It starts at 9pm on Wednesday, March 10 and is expected to last until around 3pm on Thursday March 11.

Forecasters have said strong winds accompanied by heavy and blustery showers may bring some disruption to England and Wales.

What to expect

  • Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
  • Some short term loss of power and other services is possible
  • Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely
  • Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer

Temperatures are expected to reach around 11C on Wednesday and 9C on Thursday.

Rain is expected on Wednesday with a 90 percent chance for most of the day and there may be showers on Thursday as well.
