West Lothian will have a strong contingent at an upcoming festival in Lochgoilhead.
The boutique lochside festival announced full details of their 2021 event recently, with the festival going online again this year.
Mark Sharp & The Bicycle Thieves are playing an acoustic set and the likes of Megan Black, Silvi, Fraser Mclean, DSS and Dictator will all be performing live from the Loch.
Award-winning trad acts Trail West and Heron Valley will headline, with an added 30 artists taking part, between 7th - 9th May.
The event usually has a strong West Lothian vibe, with event manager Ross Coutts coming from the county.
He said: “We’re delighted to have secured such a strong line-up with some of the best renowned trad acts and upcoming artists from across the country performing.
“It’s unfortunate we couldn’t welcome crowds, but we didn’t want to take a year off – This gives attendees the unique chance to enjoy a full weekend of festival vibes from the comfort of their own home.”
Gig in the Goil is well known for giving upcoming Scottish artists a platform on their rise to stardom, and local boys Lewis Capaldi and The Snuts played on the shores of Loch Goil, before hitting the top.
Paul Bush OBE, Visit Scotland’s Director of Events, said: “Events play an important role in our communities as they sustain livelihoods and bring social and economic change. Event Scotland is delighted to be supporting Gig in the Goil through Scotland’s Events Recovery Fund, which is helping event organisers be innovative in their event delivery and pilot new ideas as they adapt to running events in the new norm.
The festival has promised a special weekend with a host of live sets from Lochgoilhead, along with exclusive sessions and takeovers, with ‘backstage footage’ and interviews across their social media.
