'Strong stance' - Spurs praised as three fans banned for selling Champions League final tickets

Tottenham Hotspur have made the strong move of issuing indefinite bans to three supporters who sold their tickets for the Champions League final on secondary ticket platforms.

The Lilywhites are preparing for their huge clash against fellow Premier League side Liverpool in Madrid on June 1, as they seek to secure the biggest prize on the continent.

The showcase final has not been without controversy, however, as UEFA have been criticised for their approach to issuing tickets to fans.

It is proving to be an expensive trip for many Tottenham supporters intending to travel out to Madrid, with flight and hotel prices all hiked immeasurably as a result of the occasion.

Spurs were allocated just under 17,000 tickets for the showpiece final, with that allocation selling out in double quick time last week.

But some fans have angered others, and in turn the club, by taking advantage of the demand by listing their tickets on secondary sale sites at exorbitant costs.

In a strong message though, the north London side announced on Tuesday they had handed indefinite bans to three supporters found guilty of doing so.

And this was a stance that has been universally praised by the Tottenham supporting community on social media.
