Strong pre-season has Blairgowrie set for Midlands League test at Lochee United

Mark Brash admits he could not have asked for a tougher return to competitive football.

But the Blairgowrie manager has seen plenty of positives from his players ahead of this weekend’s trip to Lochee United.

Blair travel to Thomson Park determined to get their Midlands League campaign off to the best possible start.

“Pre-season has gone well and it has been longer than usual,” Brash told the Perthshire Advertiser.

“The boys look like they are getting up to speed having played seven and won seven in friendlies.

“Everyone is looking forward to getting back to playing because it’s been a long time coming.

“For the first game we couldn’t have asked for a harder task.

“We will have four or five missing due to a variety of reasons but will be going out to get a positive result.

“The game will give us a good indication of where we are at.”
