Strong-arm robber knocks people out in Gresham: police

A robbery was reported in the 8500 block South Ashland Avenue, June 9, 2019, in Gresham.

Police are warning residents of three robberies reported this month in Gresham on the South Side.

In two cases, someone knocked out a person with an unknown object and took their cellphone and wallet before running off, Chicago police said. In the other incident, someone approached a person and demanded their property.

A robbery was reported 2 to 3 a.m. June 9 in the 8500 block of South Ashland Avenue, police said. A second took place a few hours later at 11 p.m. in the 1300 block of West 77th Street.

The third robbery happened at 10 p.m. June 13 in the 7700 block of South Loomis Boulevard, police said.

The suspect is described as a 35-year-old man with brown eyes and black hair.
