Several people are missing after a “nuke-like” volcanic eruption on the Italian island of Stromboli.
The powerful explosion, which took place last night, has already claimed the life of one man, a 35-year-old Italian hiker.
Authorities have begun the desperate search for tourists who are believed to be missing, while firefighters continue to battle the flames.
The fires are on the western side of the island, after the eruption ignited fires.
