Stripper performs at £35,000-a-year private school attended by Duchess of Cambridge

A prank that saw a stripper perform in front of sixth formers at a private school has been condemned by teachers.

Pupils at Marlborough College in Wiltshire booked the male stripper for Muck-Up Day a tradition in which students play pranks on their last day before exams.

The stripper was dressed as a sailor and performed his act in the school's central courtyard, with pupils from younger years also present, according to the Sun.

The stripper, named only as Ross, told the newspaper: "I didn't know I would be performing at a school until I got there. I was told it was going to be for a girl's birthday.

"At the end of the day it was just a prank, and I didn't take all my clothes off."

He appears to have been filmed during his performance, which included a girl straddling his lap in the central courtyard in images which were then leaked.

Staff reportedly only spotted Ross as he was being taken off the grounds of the 170-year-old school by the students.

The co-educational school charges boarding fees of nearly £35,000 a year and former pupils include the Duchess of Cambridge and Samantha Cameron, the wife of Prime Minister David Cameron.

There are around 2,500 independent schools in the UK, which educate about seven per cent of all secondary school pupils, and 18 per cent of its sixth formers.

A spokeswoman said: "This was an inappropriate prank that was not condoned by the school."
