String of armed carjackings reported in Roseland: police

Police are warning South Side residents of a rash of armed carjackings in Roseland.

In each incident, a pair of gunmen approached a driver and demanded their vehicle, Chicago police said in a community alert.

In one carjacking, one of the suspects was a woman about 20 years old.

The carjackings happened:

  • about 11 p.m. May 15 in the 11200 block of South Normal Avenue;
  • about 6 a.m. May 20 in the 10000 block of South Halsted Street; and
  • about 10 p.m. May 23 in the 400 block of West 107th Street.

Anyone with information is asked to call Area Two detectives at 312-747-8273.
