Striking mural designed to celebrate 40 years of Falkirk hospice is now complete

A mural designed to celebrate 40 years of a Falkirk hospice has now been completed.

Painted by public artist Scott Gilbert, the artwork in Denny is to recognise Strathcarron Hospice's work for the past four decades.

Operating as a free palliative care resource, it serves people from across the Forth Valley region as well as Cumbernauld and Kilsyth.

Much of the funding for the mural came from the local community such as businesses in the town centre and Dunipace FC.

Residents of Denny and beyond expressed their thoughts on the new instalment on social media and were largely impressed.

One person said: "Wow! Absolutely beautiful."

Another added: "So much brighter. Beautiful to see!"

Someone else said: "That's lovely, a great tribute for the hospice... a great job done by the artist."

Councillor for Denny and Banknock, Paul Garner, said: "Massive thank you to Scott the artist, the owners of the building and the local town centre businesses and Dunipace FC for funding this project on behalf of Strathcarron hospice to celebrate the 40th anniversary."

Scott Gilbert has previously completed various murals across Falkirk in the past including at the Orchard Hotel in 2019.
