Strikers win BBL bat flip, batting at SCG

Adelaide Strikers skipper Peter Siddle has won the toss and elected to bat against Sydney Sixers. (AAP)

Adelaide Strikers stand-in skipper Peter Siddle has opted to bat first in his side's BBL clash with Sydney Sixers at the SCG.

The Strikers have been bolstered by the return of young batter Matt Renshaw, who will play his first BBL game of the season after representing Australia A in a tour game.

The table-topping Sixers have been forced to omit Steve O'Keefe (calf) and Tom Curran (back) from the XI that defeated Melbourne Stars at the MCG.

Curran will miss the rest of the season while this will be fellow English paceman Chris Jordan's final BBL match of the summer.

Sydney Sixers: Josh Philippe, James Vince, Moises Henriques (capt), Daniel Hughes, Jordan Silk, Dan Christian, Sean Abbott, Hayden Kerr, Chris Jordan, Ben Dwarshuis, Lloyd Pope.

Adelaide Strikers: Jake Weatherald, Matt Short, Matt Renshaw, Jon Wells, Thomas Kelly, Harry Nielsen, George Garton, Rashid Khan, Daniel Worrall, Peter Siddle (capt), Fawad Ahmed.
