Adelaide have continued their surge up the WBBL ladder, defeating struggling Hobart in a 48-run thrashing in Mackay on Saturday.
Australian representative fast-bowler Darcy Brown picked up three wickets as the Strikers claimed their third-straight win in the comprehensive display to move into fourth on the ladder.
Sent in by the Hurricanes at Great Barrier Reef Arena, the Strikers posted a challenging 4-142 with South African opener Dane Van Niekirk top-scoring with 44 of 38 deliveries.
All-rounder Tahlia McGrath's unbeaten 38 off 37 deliveries pushed the Strikers' score past 140 with Molly Strano (2-23), Tayla Vlaeminck (1-16) and Nicola Carey (1-43) the wicket-takers for the Hurricanes.
Needing a win to realistically stay in the finals hunt, the Hurricanes' run chase never really got going as they lost wickets at regular intervals before being dismissed for 94 in the 19th over.
Brown (3-19) started the rout, removing openers Naomi Stalenberg (2) and Rachel Priest (5) in a damaging opening spell.
Megan Schutt (2-18) and McGrath (1-12) joined in the carnage while Van Niekirk (1-0) claimed a wicket with her first delivery to dismiss Sasha Moloney (8).
Amanda-Jade Wellington claimed a run-out with a direct hit from the field before coming on late in the innings with the ball to clean up the tail, the leg-spinner ending the innings with 2-15.

Former South Africa captain Mignon du Preez's 21 was the highest score in Hobart's innings as they remain second-last on the ladder with just two matches to play in their season.
Adelaide will look to extend their winning run on Sunday against the Brisbane Heat before returning to South Australia for their final three round-robin matches.
