Opener Phil Salt has cracked a rapid half-century as the Adelaide Strikers set Perth Scorchers 166 runs to win their BBL match.
The Strikers posted 8-165 with Salt smashing four sixes in his 51 from 31 balls on Monday night at Adelaide Oval.
The Englishman's early onslaught was followed by a late cameo from Rashid Khan (29 from 13 balls) against a Scorchers side seeking their first win this tournament.
Perth's Mitchell Marsh (2-14 from four overs) and Jhye Richardson (3-30) from four overs were multiple wicket-takers.
Opening bat Salt crunched 14 runs from three Fawad Ahmed balls as the Strikers reached 0-49 from five overs.
But after the dismissal of Jake Weatherald (18 from 23 balls), the Strikers stumbled.
Marsh's initial two overs cost just five runs and Adelaide went from 1-79 at the midway point to, just six overs later, 5-111.
Salt's knock ended when he mis-timed an attempted drive and was caught at mid-off from the bowling of Richardson.
Adelaide's Matthew Renshaw (three from three), captain Alex Carey (15 from 20), Jon Wells (seven from nine) and Matt Short (16 from 14) soon followed.
Rashid added late impetus, smacking three sixes and a four to help the Strikers bank a competitive total.
