Controlled half-centuries from Matt Renshaw and Jake Weatherald have lifted the Adelaide Strikers to a score of 5-175 in their BBL clash with Hobart Hurricanes at Bellerive Oval.
Still in the frame for a possible Test recall next year, with strong backing from Australian greats Ricky Ponting and Steve Waugh, 25-year-old Renshaw delivered his best performance in the shorter format so far this season.
The left-hander top-scored with 63 off 41 balls and peeled off nine boundaries in the process.
Renshaw received strong support from Weatherald (51 off 43) before some late hitting from Thomas Kelly (28 off 18) gave the visitors a boost in their bid to end a three-match losing skid.
Matthew Short (two) was trapped lbw by Tom Rogers in an early blow and it took until the fourth over for Renshaw, who went in at first drop, to hit the first few boundaries.
He took 16 runs off Hurricanes quick Riley Meredith to kick-start the innings after Adelaide had won the flip and elected to bat first.

Renshaw also punished Sandeep Lamichhane's loose deliveries on the way to his first half-century of the campaign, which he reached in 31 balls.
It came as part of a 118-run partnership with Weatherald before both men lost their wickets to Meredith (3-37, four overs).
The Strikers didn't manage a six until local replacement player Kelly whacked one of Meredith's slower balls in the 19th over.
It was the only six of the innings.
Matthew Wade and D'Arcy Short will open the batting for Hobart in their run chase, with Ben McDermott pushed back to first drop despite top-scoring with 67 off 43 when elevated to opener in the last-start win over Melbourne Stars.
The Hurricanes will be wary of Tasmania-based Peter Siddle, who claimed remarkable figures of 5-15 from 3.3 overs for Adelaide when the teams last met 12 months ago in Launceston.
The veteran fast bowler has claimed six wickets in five matches this season but has been the Strikers' least economical bowler, coughing up 9.87 runs an over.
