Striker working to give Nottingham Forest injury boost when season resumes

Nottingham Forest striker Nuno da Costa is using the enforced break in action to work on his fitness, having made just one appearance for the Reds.

The January signing was sidelined with a muscle injury before the Championship season was suspended due to the coronavirus crisis.

Da Costa’s sole run-out in the Garibaldi came in the 1-0 defeat to Charlton Athletic last month, when he came on as a substitute.

Before the campaign was brought to a halt, head coach Sabri Lamouchi had suggested he was close to a return as he had been “having some specific sessions with the medical department”.

And it seems the front man is using the lack of games to build up his fitness in the hope of a comeback once football does eventually resume.

A video posted on social media shows Da Costa working out by doing some stretches.

The 29-year-old made the switch to the City Ground from Strasbourg, but has yet to really show the Forest faithful what he can do.

The league is not due to get back underway until the end of April at the earliest.
