Venezuela under-20 striker Jan Carlos Hurtado says he has “several proposals” from Europe – but has suggested he would rather stay in Argentina.
Jan Carlos Hurtado has Tino Asprilla's seal of approval as Newcastle transfer talk continues , who plays for Argentinian side Gimnasia, last week in what appears from the outside to be a strange transfer link.
While Hurtado has played for the Venezuelan national side he might struggle to get a work permit. Nevertheless Argentinian daily La Provincia linked the Magpies last week, even going as far as to say United are ready to make a bid for the player.
But Hurtado lavished praise on the way he had been accepted in Argentina, and appeared to suggest that he wants to stay in that country. He has three goals for Gimnasia this season and would surely not count as an addition for the senior squad if there was anything in the link to the Magpies.
Asked about interest from Newcastle and Marseille, Hurtado told Argentinian radio startion Jogo Benito: “I have several proposals from Europe but still nothing concrete. There are many clubs interested but I hope the best offer is to be able to stay and have continuity.
He then suggested that he would prefer to play for Boca Juniors. “I understand that Boca Juniors have communicated with my agent. It would be very nice to play there,” he said.
