Strictly week eight songs and dances confirmed as couples gear-up for semi-final

Strictly Come Dancing will return on Saturday evening for the grand semi-final.

The long-running BBC One series is beginning to heat up as the five remaining couples prepare to dance their socks off in a bid to impress the judges, as they eye-up a space in the glitzy final.

The celebrities and their professional partners will be performing two dances each this weekend, with hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman presenting the show as usual.

Kicking things off for Week Eight is Maisie Smith and Gorka Marquez.

They will start off the evening with a Viennese Waltz to Christina Perri's A Thousand Years.

The show favourite will then dance their Couple's Choice to Getting' Jiggy Wit It by Will Smith.

GMB star Ranvir Singh and Giovanni Pernice will be taking to the dancefloor to perform a Waltz to Un Giorno Per Noi by Josh Groban.

Their first dance will be followed by a Jive to Candyman by Christina Aguilera.

Bill Bailey and his pro partner Oti Mabuse will make an entrance with their Tango to Enter Sandman by Metallica, with a Charleston to (Won't You Come Home) Bill Bailey by Ottilie Patterson with Chris Barber.

YouTube star HRVY and partner Janette Manrara are set to dance the Charleston to Another Day Of Sun by the La La Land Cast.

They will also perform a Rumba to Only You by Kylie Minogue and James Corden.

And Made In Chelsea's Jamie Laing will Quickstep with Karen Hauer to Thank God I'm A Country Boy by John Denver, and Salsa to Last Dance by Donna Summer.

Last week, fans of the competition saw JJ Chalmers and Amy Dowden get booted off.

It's set to be a tough show this week as the remaining couples fight to make it to the final and lift the Glitterball Trophy.

*Strictly Come Dancing continues this Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
