Strictly week 4 leaderboard: Sara Davies 'blown away' as Tango bags her highest score

Strictly Come Dancing week four got off to a smashing start on Saturday night as EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Ellis kicked off the show.

The 26-year-old actress and her professional partner Giovanni Pernice danced the Cha Cha to Prince's Raspberry Beret.

Rose is the first ever deaf person to compete in Strictly Come Dancing and she's been wowing the judges since week one.

She looked incredible as she shimmied across the floor in a pair of pink tassled trousers and a sequinned crop top.

Rose and Giovanni looked delighted as they received a total score of 27 from the judging panel.

Head judge Shirley Ballas told them: "You've definitely lifted the level of your latin dancing," while Craig Revel Horwood said he's "loving the partnership", between Rose and Giovanni.

Next up on the floor was McFly star Tom Fletcher and his partner Amy Dowden.

Father-of-three Tom looked very suave as he danced the Foxtrot in a black and white tuxedo.

The musician was back and better than ever after having to sit out of the competition a few weeks ago after contracting Covid.

When it came to the judges comments, Anton described it as "marvellous" but pointed out a few mistakes and told Tom that he needs to work on his arms.

Motsi Mabuse said she "genuinely loved" it and described the routine as "classy" and "just shining".

When it came to the scores, Tom and Amy received a total of 29 - leaving the pop star "very happy".

The third celebrity to take to the dance floor was 19-year-old Tilly Ramsay.

The blonde student attempted Spanish dance the Pasodoble with her professional partner Nikita Kuzmin.

While Craig wasn't overly impressed with her performance, Motsi and Shirley disagreed with him and praised Tilly a lot.

And the scores spoke for themselves as the pair received two nines and a total of 32.

Actor Greg Wise danced the Samba next with his professional partner Karen Hauer.

Despite having fun, Greg was left looking very disappointed as the judges gave their feedback.

Shirley told him: "Not your best dance for me today," as Greg told her: "I got very nervous."

And Craig didn't choose to soften the blow as he said: "You look like you just came out of a double hip operation!"

Unfortunately, Greg only received a score of 19 - leaving him gutted.

Great British Bake Off winner John Whaite danced the American Smooth with Johannes Radebe (BBC / Guy Levy)

Great British Bake Off winner John Whaite was up next as he danced the American Smooth with Johannes Radebe.

Following on from their impressive routine in Movie Week, the pair looked suave as they glided across the floor in smart attire.

Sadly, Craig told them he wasn't "fond" of the performance and said it "needed work".

However, John and Johannes still managed to bag a total score of 29 - which John said he was "very happy" with.

Craig Revel Horwood described Rhys Stephenson's Salsa performance as 'refreshing' (BBC / Guy Levy)

Rhys Stephenson brought some serious moves to the dance floor as he tackled a Salsa with Nancy Xu.

Craig was more than impressed with the routine as he told them: "I thought it was refreshing darling," before thanking them.

Motsi described Rhys as a "power packet" while Shirley advised them to "tidy up the loose ends".

The pair were delighted when they received a total score of 31 from the panel.

Next up to dance was Dragons' Den businesswoman Sara Davies and her partner Aljaž Škorjanec.

The pair performed an incredible Tango and thoroughly impressed the judges with Craig saying he couldn't find anything wrong with it.

Anton even told her he would give her a score of 12, but also gave her some tips on how to improve for the next week.

Sara said she was "blown away" as they received a total score of 36 - which is Aljaž's highest ever for a Tango performance on Strictly.

BBC presenter Dan Walker and his partner Nadiya Bychkova danced the Cha Cha to U Can't Touch This by MC Hammer (BBC/Guy Levy)

BBC presenter Dan Walker and his partner Nadiya Bychkova were up next and danced the Cha Cha to U Can't Touch This by MC Hammer.

"I thought it was highly entertaining," Shirley told Dan, before describing it as "committed and co-ordinated".

The head judge gave the pair a seven, as did Anton and Motsi - but Craig only awarded them a five - leading to a total of 26.

Loose Women star Judi Love danced next with her professional partner Graziano Di Prima.

Judi looked sensational in a blue dress as she performed the Waltz to Mariah Carey's hit track Hero.

As the routine came to end, Judi broke down as she hugged Graziano and stayed rather silent during the judge's comments.

Shirley told Judi that she had done her parents proud and that she could feel the emotion in the dance, and Anton echoed those comments.

But Craig wasn't so complimentary but said he wasn't going to list everything that was wrong with it.

Still choked up from the emotional performance, Judi paid tribute to her "hero sister" Sharon - who was sat in the studio audience - before the judges gave her a total score of 24.

Adam Peaty danced an incredible Argentine Tango with his partner Katya Jones (BBC / Guy Levy)

Next up, Adam Peaty gave it his all with an Argentine Tango alongside Katya Jones.

Craig described it as "brilliant" while Anton told Adam: "Your intensity is incredible!"

Shirley and Motsi also showered Adam with praise as Katya declared: "He's back!"

The pair received a clean line of eights from the judges meaning their total score was an impressive 32.

Closing week four of Strictly was TV presenter AJ Odudu and her professional partner Kai Widdrington.

The 33-year-old looked incredible as she danced the Samba in a teeny tiny dress and looked like she was having a whale of a time.

However, she was firmly stopped in her tracks as Craig gave his feedback first and said "it was poor and lacking".

The other judges were much kinder, with Anton telling AJ: "I have to say I love watching you dance so thank you very much."

As they joined host Claudia Winkleman, the judges scores were in and gave AJ and Kai a total of 28.

Strictly Come Dancing: The Results airs Sunday at 7:10pm on BBC One.
