Strictly viewers want Motsi off panel after Kelvin and Oti's controversial score

Strictly Come Dancing viewers are questioning whether Motsi Mabuse should be on the judging panel.

Some Strictly fans don't believe it is fair that Motsi was judging her own sister, Oti, during the first live show of the series.

Pro dancer Oti and her celeb partner Kelvin Fletcher scored the highest score in any first show for five years and top mark of the night.

The Emmerdale star's Samba received a staggering score of 32, which is very impressive considering he only had two weeks to prepare after getting a last-minute call up.

Excited Motsi could not believe how good the dance was and lavished Kelvin and her sister with high praise.

Strictly Come Dancing viewers took to Twitter to question whether Motsi should be marking Oti's dances.

One viewer said: "Surely there’s a conflict of interest in having Motsi as the new judge when her sister Oti is a pro dancer competing"

Another added: "Is it really fair that Motsi Mabuse is on the #Strictly judging panel and her sister Oti is one of the partners?"

A third asked: "If Oti is in a dance off, would her sister vote her off?"

Motsi started giggling after crying "oh my goodness" after Kelvin and Oti had finished dancing.

"Kelvin, well are we not happy you stepped in," said Motsi. "I mean...seriously you have good assets guys.

"Stop, stop, I’m talking about that spine. That hip rotation. I’m talking about that ooziness in your body. That was so fun to watch."

Shirley Ballas, who admitted she was lost for words, joked that she need a fan to cool her down.

While Bruno Tonioli claimed it was the best Samba he had seen on a debut show on any of the international versions of the show.

Craig Revel Horwood was booed for saying Kelvin's hands "bothered" him but claimed it was "a-maz-ing".

Claudia joked that Kelvin, who said he could cry, should only have two weeks' notice for everything he does.

Motsi replaced Darcey Bussell, who revealed she was stepping down in April after seven years as a judge.

Speaking of her new role on Instagram , Motsi said: "I am absolutely thrilled and overjoyed to be joining the @bbcstrictly judging panel. I have so much respect and admiration for the other three judges and hope to add my own bit of sparkle to the show.

"I can't wait to get started! @letsdance dance has always and will always have a place in my heart ' I grew up with @letsdance and learned so much, so don't worry I am not going anywhere soon and November I will be certainly our first tour!!".
