Strictly viewers slam Alfonso Ribeiro for 'overmarking' celebs' routines

Alfonso Ribeiro was a guest judge in this week's Strictly Come Dancing, standing in for Bruno Tonioli.

And while some viewers were thrilled to have the legendary Fresh Prince actor on the panel, many criticised him for being too generous with marking.

He awarded Mike Bushell and Katya Jones a seven for their Samba, when Craig Revel Horwood had given them a three, Motsi Mabuse a six and Shirley Ballas had given then a five.

Alfonso, 48, gave Emma Weymouth and her partner Aljaz Skorjanec a nine for their Viennese Waltz after they were in the bottom two last week.

And fans took to Twitter to criticise him for giving away too many points.

One tweeted: "They need to get Alfonso out of here how is he gonna give Mike a 7 like that lol."

"Alfonso scores should be disallowed?? He is over marking way to high," another posted.

A third wrote: "Mike gets a 7... a seven... a SEVEN!!! from Alfonso. You’ve let yourself down, you’ve let your judges down, you’ve let the whole BBC down!:"

"Alfonso so yolo about scoring... he’s the anti Craig," another said.

But others were full of praise for his appearance on the show.

One commented: "Alfonso is hilarious can we have him on the judging panel every week please?"

"I’m glad everyone’s getting the Alfonso extra point," another posted.

A third said: "Seriously, Alfonso needs to be on this judging panel every week."
