Strictly viewers left baffled by 'strange' start to semi-final results show

Strictly Come Dancing viewers were quick to spot a "strange" start to the semi-final results show.

It wasn't just a change in the day of the results show that got viewers talking this evening. The results show was temporarily switched from Sunday to Monday this week as programming was interrupted by the FIFA World Cup.

But many viewers were quick to spot that a popular part of the BBC competition, the professional dance, was axed from the start of the Strictly results show. A choregraphed piece performed by Strictly's professional dancers normally provides an action-packed start to the show.

Ahead of the dance off between Will Mellor and Fleur East, Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi performed in the studio. However, viewers were unable to ignore the absence of the professional dance which opens Strictly Come Dancing.

And some even took to social media to ask what had happened to the segment.

One person said: "No pro dance?!? What the hell #Strictly" Another added: "I thought we were getting a prod dance tonight?"

A third wrote: "What's happened to the Pro Dance? Strange start to the show" A fourth added: "Wait why are we not starting with a pro dance…"
