Strictly viewers fume over 'missing couple' in the final after surprise vote

Strictly Come Dancing fans all have their own favourites, but many decried the absence of a favourite couple this evening.

Last week's show saw Ranvir Singh and Giovanni Pernice controversially receive the axe after a tense dance off with Jamie Laing and Karen Hauer.

Tonight sees Jamie and Karen face off against Maisie Smith and Gorka Marquez, Bill Bailey and Oti Mabuse, and HRVY and Janette Manrara.

And though Ranvir and Gi were back cheering on the finalists, many felt they should have been among them.

One fumed: "Ranvir & Gio not being in the final is an absolute crime I tell ya. I miss them and their insane chemistry."

"I do so wish we were getting a Ranvir-Giovanni showdance but 2020 just had to steal the joy ...grrr... #Strictly," another tweeted.

"Currently thinking about how amazing ranvir and giovanni's show dance would’ve been #strictly," a third penned.

A fourth lamented: "Why did the camera have to pan to Ranvir and Giovanni and remind me that they got eliminated last week #StrictlyFinal #Strictly."

Today's show also saw a special occasion - judge Craig Revel-Horwood vow to be more positive.

Hard nut Craig made the promise after the news broke that 15 million were facing Tier 4 lockdown restrictions.

After HRVY and Janette opened the show, he told Tess Daly: "In light of the recent news, darling, I've decided I'm going to be more positive."

Craig added to HRVY: "I know you may not recognise me, but I really loved that."

Tonight's show will see one of the four couples lift the coveted Glitterball Trophy.
