Strictly viewers blast Taylor Swift for 'miming' during Strictly final performance

The Strictly Come Dancing final saw pop superstar Taylor Swift take to the stage and sing her new single, Lover.

She sang and played piano while two Strictly dancers performed, but some viewers weren't convinced she was singing live.

One tweeted: "Love that Taylor Swift song...but was she miming?! #StrictlyFinal ".

"Nice bit of miming from Taylor Swift on Strictly there", said another.

"Taylor Swift is sooooo miming #StrictlyFinal ", added a third.

Another disappointed viewer said: "Did my eyes and ears deceive me or did @taylorswift13 just lip sync on @bbcstrictly ?? Stunning song at the end of a stunning final ruined by her not singing live!! Why?? #gutted #TaylorSwift #BBCStrictly #StrictlyFinal ".

A Taylor Swift news account responded and claimed that Taylor pre-recorded the performance several days go - but didn't confirm whether she was actually singing at the piano in the pre-recording.

A Strictly spokesperson confirmed that Taylor was indeed singing live during the performance.

Taylor recently hinted that her mother's cancer battle was worsening in an interview with Billboard.

he said that 2020 had "a lot of question marks" and that she needed to be able to be near her family.

Because of this, she is not undertaking her usual six-month stadium tour, but is instead embarking on a one-month long festival.

Kelvin Fletcher was crowned the winner of this year's series alongside his dancing partner Oti Mabuse.

They beat fellow finalists Emma Barton and Anton Du Beke and Amy Dowden and Karim Zeroual to claim the Glitterball trophy.

Oti burst into tears over the news, praising Kelvin for his hard work, as Kelvin himself choked up.

He told host Tess Daly: "I'm speechless, I did not expect that, it's just been such a privilege to be here."

Strictly Come Dancing returns on Christmas Day for the festive special.
