Strictly star Will Mellor visits Glasgow's Swadish and describes food as 'top'

When it comes to the food scene, Glasgow is one of the best - and it seems that one Line of Duty star is in agreement after popping into a local restaurant for some much-needed Indian food.

Taking to Instagram, owner of Swadish by Ajay Kumar, uploaded a photo of himself and Will Mellor with the chef revealing his food was loved by the actor.

In the caption uploaded to Instagram he wrote: "During a visit to Glasgow, @willmellor76 was told to head over to Swadish. In his own words, “That was TOP."

The Indian fine dining restaurant is a hit with not just Will, but locals too, and it seems the Strictly Come Dancing star couldn't get enough, later taking to social media himself to praise the eatery.

In the video he says: "I'm here in Glasgow and I have not had a curry for weeks. I've been touring around and I've heard Glasgow do amazing curry's. So I've been told about this place."

Pointing to Swadish and standing outside the restaurant he continues: "I've been told to try it and I will let you know what it's like. Let's have it."

Sharing pictures, Will later came out, visibly happy and said: "That was top. It's a bit different, it's more traditional in Swadish, it's more authentic Indian. It's all really fresh, top quality ingredients and I made him do me a proper spicy one so better go put the toilet roll in the fridge.

"If you come to Glasgow, check out Swadish."

Telling Glasgow Live about the visit and lovely feedback from Will, Ajay said: "He's a great guy. Very down-to-earth and friendly.

"There was no one that he turned away from when people were asking him for photos. He really kindly did a reel that he posted on his own social media. It was actually really nice to meet him."
