Strictly star Tom Fletcher's sister cries as fans accuse judges of 'fixing' scores

Tom Fletcher's sister has said that she was close to tears following her brother's dance on Strictly last night.

It comes after furious fans took to Twitter last night over the judges scoring, which saw Tom crash to the bottom of the leaderboard following his Couple's Choice routine to Les Miserables' On My Own.

Some viewers accused the panel of undermarking some celebs and overmarking others to ensure that certain stars remained in the competition.

Tom and Amy received just 31 for their performance, including a seven from guest judge Cynthia Erivo and three eights from the others.

"It is clear that so much love and work has gone into this particular performance, but what is missing is the heart," Cynthis pointed out, while Motsi agreed and said that there was a lack of emotion in his routine.

Shirley added as she told Tom: "It's OK to cry."

Tom had dedicated the dance to his sister, theatre star Carrie Hope Fletcher.

And Carrie took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the dance, appearing to hit back at the judges' critiques.

She wrote: "This has to be a boomerang because if I talk about it I'll cry but @tomfletcher and @amydowden you did me and all of Les Mis lovers out there proud! I'm the proudest little sister! It's a 10 from me!"

Fans flocked to Twitter to hit out at Tom's negative scoring on Saturday, with one tweeting: "Don’t think I’ve voted yet this year but I just made sure I’m logged in to vote for Tom, because I’ve not a clue what the judges are on about! #Strictly."

While another commented: ""i am so gutted for tom and amy, it’s a dancing show so the fact they got lower scores bc tom “didn’t cry” is ridiculous. you could clearly see how emotional he was and how much that dance meant to him. i’m proud of them and think they deserved more."

*Strictly airs tonight at 7.15pm on BBC One
