Strictly star Ola Jordan wants to have a second child through IVF

Strictly Come Dancing star Ola Jordan has said that she would like to have more children after welcoming her daughter Ella after IVF treatment.

The mum-of-one said how she was open to going through the process again, but says that she questions whether she "wants to bring a child into a world like this".

Speaking to GB News she said that her first experience with IVF was a "very positive experience" and that if she is unable to conceive without help then she will opt into it again.

"It's really hard because you don't know who to turn to. Most of my friends used to get pregnant so easily.

“I didn't understand why I wasn't getting pregnant. I was healthy, fit, I was a professional dancer.”

“It's very hard and it's very hard to turn to someone because everyone was getting pregnant around me", she added.

She continued: “But then when I went through IVF and I announced that I was going through IVF suddenly I found all those women coming up to me and going ‘I did IVF’, so suddenly there were a lot of women that I could talk to.

“It's still a subject that people don't want to talk about, unfortunately.”

The dancer spoke about how 49 per cent of women are delaying having children due to the current climate, according to data from IVI London.

A government study found that nearly half of women born in 1989 didn't have children by the time they were 30, compared to just 38 per cent of those from their mum's generation.

Ola, married to former Strictly Come Dancing star, James Jordan, said: “I would love to have more children if it happens naturally, if it doesn't I will go for another IVF, yes.

“Things have changed massively, 49% of women are delaying having children because of different things like the cost of living, and Covid, and the war in Ukraine, which I understand."

It's not just Ola who wants another baby, her daughter Ella has expressed a desire for a sibling.

In an interview with Hello magazine, Ola said: "Ella loves babies. The other day she actually said she wants a sister or a brother."

James added: "We were watching Frozen and we were explaining that Ana and Elsa are sisters, then Ola said to Ella, 'Would you like a sister?' and Ella said, 'Or a brother.' It was so sweet."

"I thought that was really switched on to say that. She surprises me every day. She can say the alphabet, which I think is pretty cool for a two and a half year old," she added.
