Katie McGlynn is ready to hit the Strictly Come Dancing dancefloor - but she faces a run in with her rumoured ex.
The Coronation Street star was romantically linked to dancer Giovanni Pernice back in 2017, soon after he split from her Corrie co-star Georgia May Foote.
Katie has appeared to hint there was a romance there as she has followed each and every one of the professional dancers on this year's show, except for Giovanni - who is currently dating ex Love Island star Maura Higgins.
Eagle eyed fans noticed she had missed Giovanni out and immediately jumped to conclusions about why.
Katie had previously played down any romance between the pair.
She told The Sun : "They were trying to make it look like I was trying to have her boyfriend and I really wasn’t, even though they weren’t together any more, just because he’d dated another Corrie actress at some point.
"I was quite upset about it because I’d not done anything. It was blown up out of all proportion."
Katie appeared on BBC Breakfast earlier this week, where she confirmed she would be taking part in the show.
"I have been so nervous but really excited for today," she said.
"I've had to keep it quiet for so long I'm just relieved that everyone can know now."
The actress admitted she is excited to learn a new skill on the show and is looking forward to the famous sequinned outfits.
She said: "It's been so hard keeping it a secret, but I can finally say that I’m getting ready to shake my shimmy and become part of the Strictly family!
"I'm really not a dancer, but I’m so excited to learn a new skill on this crazy journey and cannot wait to slip into some sequins along the way.
"Although I do get to have so much fun as an actress, a lot of my roles have involved quite serious and challenging storylines, so I’m fully ready to let my hair down and do something different, even if it is completely outside of my comfort zone.
"I can’t promise that I’ll be the best, but I’m going to give it 110% on the dance floor! As long as I don't fall over I'll be happy."
Katie admitted she was incredibly "nervous" ahead of the show and was worried about falling over half way through a dance.
"Pass me those sequins @bbcstrictly I AM SO EXCITED AND NERVOUS!!" she wrote on Instagram.
"But as long as I don’t fall over mid-routine I’ll be quite happy! Cannot wait to meet everyone and start this crazy journey with my new Strictly fam #strictly."
