Strictly star James Jordan's regrets after giving baby daughter sugary snack before bed

James Jordan has admitted making a parenting mis-step after giving his baby daughter a sugary snack right before bed.

The former Strictly star, 42, became a first-time dad earlier this year when his wife Ola gave birth to a little girl named Ella.

He's been documenting his fatherhood journey on social media since Ella arrived, and over the weekend he confessed he'd made a mistake.

James told his followers he'd given Ella a snack of  pureed fruit right before bedtime - and it was unlikely she would be going to sleep any time soon.

Speaking in a video posted on Instagram, he explained: "So, I thought I was being good daddy helping Ola out while she was upstairs.

"I mixed up some apple and banana for Ella. Now I think she's had a sugar rush and there is no way she's going to bed."

He then turned to his daughter and said: "What are you doing? Is Daddy silly? I didn't know.

"Look at you! So much energy, wonderful! What time are you going to keep us up to tonight?"

Ella was seen wriggling around, holding up a toy and laughing as he dad added: "oh dear".

James and Ola became parents in February after a heartbreaking fertility battle.

Doctors warned Ola she only had a 50/50 chance she would get pregnant, but Ola conceived after her first round of IVF treatment in June 2019.

She previously told Hello! magazine: "I would love to be a mum with all my heart and I just thought it would happen naturally.

"James is also desperate to have babies and I just wish it could have happened by now. That's the one gift I would love to give him.

"I guess I just thought, like most women, that I could choose when the time was right for me; that I could have my career and then have a baby when it felt right. But for us it just hasn’t happened like that."
