Strictly star feared career was over after cancer diagnosis

  • Strictly Come Dancing star Alex Kingston admitted she worried about her career after pulling out of a project due to her uterine cancer diagnosis in 2024.
  • Kingston, 63, underwent a hysterectomy and radiation therapy, and although the cancer is now successfully treated, she felt she had let down the production she withdrew from.
  • She has since returned to acting in the upcoming ITV spy thriller Secret Service and competed in Strictly Come Dancing last year, reaching week 10.
  • Kingston initially delayed seeking medical help for symptoms like bloating and achiness, only doing so after noticing blood in her urine and experiencing a haemorrhage during a play.
  • She also criticised Craig Revel Horwood's “mean-spirited” comment on Strictly, where he suggested her Salsa performance looked like a “midlife crisis”.
