Strictly star Adam Peaty warns online trolls following 'near kiss' with dance pro Katya Jones on live TV

Strictly star Adam Peaty warned online trolls about their gossip following his 'near kiss' with dance pro Katya Jones on live TV.

Olympic swimmer Adam and dancer Katya were at the centre of speculation from viewers following their sizzling tango on Saturday night.

Their performance ended with what looked like Adam appearing to lean in towards Katya as if trying to kiss her.

Viewers in their droves took to Twitter to comment about the moment with many asking: “Did Adam just go to kiss Katya and then remember they’re on TV?!"

Adam who has a one year old son with Welsh girlfriend Eiri Munro was unhappy about the comments regarding himself and Katya who is said to be single after spitting with her husband Neil Jones in 2019.

He told his followers online: "My favourite dance so far.

"Thank you to everyone who has sent supporting messages! I loved it."

He added: "To everyone who wants to see what they want, your comments have real life consequences. I will not be overcome or lowered by your gossip.

"Protect your energy."

Eiri also took to TikTok to respond to the comments in a more humorous way.

She titled the video: "Watching your boyfriend almost kiss another woman on live TV."

In the clip she throws her head back in faux despair , saying "Finding out 10 million other people also watched it live, while pretending to sob again."

'The Strictly curse' has ended many a relationship and couple who go on the show are always wary of it.

Katya was photographed kissing comedian Seann Walsh, her dance partner in 2018, before splitting with her fellow dancer hubby Neil Jones.

The pair had to apologise for their antics on Strictly spin of show It Takes Two and called the smooch a 'drunken one off mistake'.
