Ugo Monye felt "let down" by his body following his Strictly Come Dancing exit.
The former rugby player crashed out of the BBC One competition on Sunday night, after a tense dance off between him and Oti Mabuse and Rhys Stephenson and his dance partner Nancy Xu.
And following his exit, Ugo has opened up about his health struggles on the show, as he explained how he felt his body "let him down" when he was forced to pull out of the show for a week due to the pain.
Asked on Strictly: It Takes Two if there was one dance he didn't get to do that he wanted to do, he said: "I'd have loved to have been able to do the American Smooth and the Viennese Waltz.
"Only because Oti and I put in three, four days of really hard work and I had to go off and have some spinal injections. It just felt like, it was something we worked so hard for but then had to shelve."
"It would have been amazing to have done that actual dance with Oti, I felt we had such a good routine. Once again, my body let me down," he added.
However, Ugo insists he has no regrets about his time on the show.
He told host Rylan Clark: "But I do look back at my time with zero regrets. Did I have more to give? Yeah I think so.
"Did I have more to give to the other contestants? Absolutely not because they're absolutely spectacular. Genuinely, for me to do Strictly, it's amazing. It's an unbelievable BBC institution and to be able to do it with Oti was incredible."
Ugo was forced to pull out of week four of the show due to "unwanted problems".
He wrote at the time: "Unfortunately I’m not going to be able to dance this weekend on the show.
"I have a history of back problems which has always been managed under the guidance of medical professionals. Unfortunately this has been causing me some unwanted problems this week!
"I have been advised by medical professionals and with huge support from Strictly to get some treatment & rest to ensure that I can get myself back to full capacity & fighting fit for next week."
The show has been plagued by health troubles as Robert Webb was forced to quit the show on medical advice after having open heart surgery two years ago, whilst both Tom Fletcher and Judi Love have had to miss separate weeks on the show after testing positive for Covid.
