Strictly’s Tom Fletcher revealed his new ripped six-pack is down to “hard taskmaster” Amy Dowden.
The McFly star, 36, added he had to find his “inner sexiness” for last week’s salsa but joked it is pointless to moan about his training to his dance partner.
He said: “I don’t like to complain because Amy just rolls her eyes. You’re using muscles you never use and ache in places you didn’t know you had.”
Despite fellow contestants lying in ice baths to recover, the father-of-three said he cannot fit in such luxuries.
Tom, who squeezes in the school run around training, added: “There’s just no time.”
Ahead of the salsa, he posted a photograph of his six-pack on Twitter.
Despite appearing naked on gay magazine Attitude, Tom joked it was unlike him to post a shirtless snap.
He added: “But in the name of finding my inner sexiness, I’m back to the good old spray-tan this week & very happy about it.”
The singer, married to I’m A Celebrity winner Giovanna Fletcher, admitted he was reluctant to tread on bandmate Harry Judd’s toes by joining Strictly.
And said he does not feel pressured to lift the Glitterball Trophy like Harry did in 2011. Tom and Amy will perform the tango to AC/DC’s Highway To Hell on tonight’s Halloween-themed show.

But the musician said competing in the show along with his “rock” is still more stressful than his time in McFly.
He added: “It’s strange. Knowing you get one chance to do that dance right.”
The couple were forced to sit out the second week of the hit BBC1 series after Tom contracted coronavirus -1>coronavirus.

He also had to pull out of a string of concerts, which he described as “heartbreaking”.
Amy says she now has a whole new family after being welcomed into the fold by Tom’s wife and his children Buzz, seven, Buddy, five, and Max, three.
Tom added his bond with the dancer has helped him survive the tough show.
He said: “You really need someone who’s going to support you.”
