Strictly's Tom Fletcher endures 'toughest week ever' as rehearsals leave him exhausted

Strictly Come Dancing's Tom Fletcher has admitted that rehearsals this week have left him feeling exhausted.

The McFly star is juggling rehearsals for the popular BBC One show with several gigs, and it certainly hasn't been easy for him.

Taking to his Instagram Story on Saturday afternoon, dad-of-three Tom said he was gearing up for his first live performance on the Strictly dance floor with partner Amy Dowden.

Laying down on the sofa filming himself, Tom told his two million followers: "So today is the day, or tonight is the night, should I say. It's Strictly.

"We've just done our band call, just run it twice through with the band which is why I'm so out of breath. But it's great doing it with the live band, makes it completely different."

Tom continued: "This is the most exhausting thing I've ever done, ever. Touring, Strictly, it's been the toughest week, can't even begin to tell you.

"But hopefully all that hard work will pay off tonight if I can get through the night. Tonight, don't miss Strictly!" he added.

Next week probably isn't going to be any easier for Tom, as he'll be performing with his McFly band mates in Glasgow, Liverpool and Nottingham.

Tom revealed that he and his partner Amy Dowden had received some good luck flowers from his McFly bandmate Dougie Poynter (tomfletcher/Instagram)

Ahead of his first dance with professional partner Amy, Tom revealed that his band mate Dougie Poynter had sent them a huge bouquet of flowers.

Speaking to camera, Tom said: "So, Amy and I just had these flowers arrive. Wondering who they're from... only from Dougie!"

The accompanying card read: "Dear Tom and Amy, don't suck, love Dougie."

"Doug, look at you getting us flowers, that's not like you mate is it?" Tom laughed. "Thanks Doug, we'll try our best not to suck."

Tom, 36, and Amy, 31, will take to the floor to perform the Cha Cha to Earth Wind & Fire's hit track September.

Tom is "incredibly excited" yet "totally terrified" to be taking on the new challenge, despite having previous dance experience from his time at the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School where he met his now-wife Giovanna 'Gi' Falcone, at just age 13.

In a chat with HELLO!, Giovanna admitted their relationship had gone through different phases since their teen love story began.

"When we met we only went out for two days, then we had the whole teen drama stuff, 'I love you, no I don't', then he snogged all of my mates in the way that teenagers do!"

But that wasn't enough to keep them apart, as she added: "The feeling of knowing what's important and not getting lost in the 'fluff' was really what kept us so strong together."

Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday at 7pm on BBC One.
